In 1988, Wooden Stories began with a simple moment and a lasting idea.

Our founder hand carved a small collection of wooden coins to commemorate a football game he attended with his brothers. What started as a keepsake quickly became something more. The coins took on meaning as a good luck charm and soon evolved into an annual family tradition that marked game days.

The reaction from family and friends was immediate and enthusiastic. It sparked a vision that these coins could become more than a personal tradition. He imagined a business that would allow other sports fans to experience the same connection, nostalgia, and pride through a truly one-of-a-kind collectible.

The demands of raising a family and managing a career placed that vision on hold. Yet for more than three decades, the idea never faded. The original coins endured, and so did the belief that they were meant to be shared beyond family and friends.

Today, that vision has become reality. His son, who grew up with the GameDay Spirit Coin™ as a core family tradition, now serves as President of Wooden Stories. He leads day-to-day operations while honoring the craftsmanship, storytelling, and emotional connection that inspired the very first coin.

What began as a single game souvenir now lives on through a series of collectible designs to help fans celebrate their teams, their traditions, and their stories.
